Jumper
A futuristic sort of Metroidvania game being developed and built for the Metroidvania 13 game jam, starting on August 15th, 2021 and ending September 15th, 2021.
Game auto saves when you go through each door to the next scene, and auto reloads from these points on death. Manual quick saves (keys shown below) are separate.
NOTE: For Linux, after download, you must make jumper.x86_64 executable with chmod +x jumper.x86_64 then run jumper.x86_64
Controls:
Keyboard/Mouse
A and D or Arrow Keys for movement
U: Unlocked Abilities menu (shows what abilities you have unlocked for use)
Spacebar or W: Jump/Multi jump/Wall jump
E: Dash (if unlocked)
Aim with mouse, Mouse 1 shoots, Mouse 2 charge shot (if unlocked), Middle Mouse fire missile (or Alt key on keyboard)
F5: Quick Save Game
F6: Quick Load Game
ESC: Pause Menu
Gamepad
Left Stick/D pad for movement
Dualshock Cross/Xbox A/Nintendo B: Jump/Multi jump/Wall jump
Dualshock Circle/Xbox B, Nintendo A: Dash (if unlocked)
Use M key to turn off mouse aim, use Right Stick for aiming
Dualshock Square/Xbox X/Nintendo Y OR R1: shoots
R2: ;Charge shot (if unlocked)
L1: Fire missiles

Cute little metroidvania! I like the format of the tutorials, you get to discover the mechanics as you discover the world. I managed to get to the charge shot, but sadly the game crashed shortly after. This might just be the web version, it has some lag in places too, like a short delay before shooting. The jumps also feel a little slippery. The polygonal artstyle is neat, but the enemies blend in very well!
Thanks for playing! Yeah the web version seems to crash a lot for people for some reason. Some people said the Windows build did as well.
We unfortunately did not put as much time into the shooting and movement mechanics as we would have liked too.
The enemies blending in with the environment was mostly on purpose to make game a bit "trickier" but the general consensus of users seem to think we should have contrasted them a bit more.
